Despite what you may think, this is a busy time of year for me, but there are a few jobs which tree owners can do for themselves.
During the tail end of winter and beginning of spring, the roots start to wake up and the sap starts to rise from roots to branch tips.
So this is the best time to apply mulch to the base of your tree for the most effective intake. Especially for fruiting trees.
Now is also the best time to spot and remove any damaged branches from the winter storms. BUT unless you are very proficient with a chainsaw this is a job best left to the professionals.
It is cheaper than you think to get someone like me in to do the job safely and to do what is best for the tree.
The vast majority of fatal and major injuries in tree work are associated
with chainsaws -, don't become a statistic.
